One of my favorite, but more challenging passions in my life is photographing birds. Birds seem more acclimated to human activity in Florida than in my native state of Illinois, so I often travel there to pursue this passion.

Central Illinois Insects
As a life time resident of Illinois, I have spent much of my time photographing wildlife outside of the state of Illinois. Illinois is known as "The Prairie State" despite the fact that over 99% of our nature prairie no longer exists in the state. Throughout central Illinois there are pockets where attempts are being make to bring back some of the prairie ecosystem. This summer I have made it my business to spend hours walking in the prairie to photograph prairie denizens.
